Our March Spotlight, Holly, is a Miami, FL based photographer. Here’s her story:
“My love of photography began when I was a teenager and my father taught me the basics on his Pentax camera. While in college, I became a photographer for both the newspaper, The Miami Hurricane, and the yearbook, The Ibis. During my time in Texas for graduate school, my interest in photography grew and I sold my first photos as part of the yearly charitable art show at Baylor College of Medicine. Once I returned to South Florida, I delved deeper into my “out of control hobby” and officially began HNC Collection in 2011. My fine art photos cover a range of areas including floral, landscape, architectural, and travel photos. I exhibited at seven different shows, including the Las Olas Art Fair, the Key Biscayne Art Festival, and the Beaux Arts Festival.
Most recently, I’ve expanded my photography to include portrait sessions – everything from engagement, maternity, newborn and family sessions. While this work is distinct from my fine art, I enjoy incorporating natural landscapes and outdoor elements whenever possible. I’m able to take advantage of Florida’s beautiful beaches and gorgeous weather. Beginning in 2014, I joined a wonderful organization called “The Tiny Footprints Project” that provides free sessions for families in the NICU. Thank you to everyone who’s invited me to share and document their family’s special moments.”
